Meta just announced several updates coming to Facebook during the company’s IRL event in Austin. It’s testing an Explore tab and adding a new video tab. The Explore tab will house content tailored to users’ interests, designed to help users dive deeper into their interests. The new Explore tab is still in the testing phase. The video tab is also getting a major update to accommodate Reels, housing all video content on Facebook. The updated video tab will allow users to seamlessly watch short-form, long-form, and live videos in a single experience, rolling out in the coming weeks. These updates aim to capture younger audiences, as statistics show that young adults on Facebook spend a significant amount of time watching videos and Reels. Whether young or not, users will benefit from this expanded video tab.
