Playtonic Games is bringing their nostalgic 3D platformer, Yooka-Laylee, to modern consoles with a remastered version called Yooka-Re-playee for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and “Nintendo platforms.” This spiritual successor to games like Banjo-Kazooie and Spyro the Dragon was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2015 and released two years later, followed by a sequel called Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair in 2017. The updated version features enhanced graphics, new enemies, and revamped controls, along with an updated orchestral score by Grant Kirkhope and David Wise. Players will explore a colorful open world as a chameleon and bat duo, Yooka and Laylee, on a quest to stop the villainous CEO, Capital B, from stealing all the books in the world.
