    Swiss Public Transport Company to Use Apollo Go Robotaxis

    Robotaxis continue to roll out and land contracts in more and more places around the world. China’s Apollo Go, a Baidu Inc. company, has now gotten a foothold (or tirehold) in a new market. PostBus, the public transportation arm of Swiss Post, is going to use the autonomous driving company.

    The on-demand service that PostBus is launching will be called AmiGo. It will include 4-seat fully electric vehicles that won’t include a steering wheel once mapping and safety testing is complete. That vehicle model is called the RT6. Testing begins this December, but commercial service for passengers is not expected to begin until the 1st quarter of 2027.

    If you haven’t been following along, note that Apollo Go is one of the world’s clear robotaxi leaders. It has driverless vehicles in operation in 16 cities, now totaling more than 1,000 vehicles. It has provided more than 14 million driverless rides to customers.
