Nineteen members of Congress are pressing Mark Zuckerberg to explain why Meta has allowed ads for cocaine, ecstasy, and other drugs on both Facebook and Instagram. The Tech Transparency Project found 450 ads that included drug-related content, including photos of prescription drug bottles and piles of pills. Lawmakers have requested details about Meta’s policies for enforcing rules against drug-related ads and how many times people interacted with these ads, setting a deadline for Meta to respond by September 6th. This scrutiny comes amidst concerns about drug-related content on social media platforms. Additionally, Beats has released a limited collection of Studio Pro headphones in neutral colors, Apple and Amazon selling them for the usual $350 price tag. Dyson has introduced Ontrac headphones with audio and active noise cancellation features for everyday use, although their price, audio quality, and noise cancellation may not be a strong selling point. Finally, Meta’s Quest HDMI Link app allows users to connect HDMI or DisplayPort devices to Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest Pro headsets, with the requirement of a compatible capture card and cable. Ibrahim Al-Nasser holds a world record for connecting 444 consoles to one TV, a feat that has garnered attention.
