Fubo wins injunction to delay Disney-Fox-Warner’s live sports streamer Venu

The sports streaming service Fubo has successfully obtained a temporary injunction against Disney-Fox-Warner’s potential competitor Venu Sports, preventing the launch of the joint sports streaming venture due to antitrust concerns. US District Judge Margaret Garnett ruled that the concentrated media power of the joint venture would limit consumer choices, increase prices, and create a monopolistic environment in the sports streaming sector. The injunction, granted in response to Fubo’s lawsuit, aims to prevent anticompetitive practices and protect consumers from harm. The Venu Sports streaming service, initially announced by Fox-Disney-Warner, promised viewers access to 14 live sports channels for $42.99 a month. Fubo’s lawsuit alleged that the joint venture was attempting to weaken its own sports streaming service with anticompetitive tactics. The fate of Venu Sports now rests on the outcome of the antitrust case in federal court.
