For as long as I can remember, I have been hoping for a product like MyRow to hit the market. Being a dedicated rowing enthusiast with a Concept2 Model D, one of the most popular rowing machines globally, I have been disappointed by the company’s reluctance to embrace the smart fitness revolution. While other companies have integrated HD screens and live classes into their gym equipment, Concept2 has stuck with the PM5, a basic display that showcases rowing stats. MyRow, created by Gary Simpson, offers an internet-connected display that can be attached to various Concept2 models, providing access to on-demand video classes and a more appealing display option. The easy installation process includes bolting the mounting arm onto the rower and connecting a data cable from the PM5 to MyRow. The device operates on a skinned Android tablet platform, offering connectivity options such as Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, and more. The user-friendly interface displays workout stats and offers a selection of video workouts and training plans. While there is potential for improvement in reducing noise from the rowing fan, MyRow’s promise to integrate streaming videos in the future is exciting. This product has the potential to enhance the rowing experience for users, with a tablet priced at $500 and varying membership options available. Exciting things are on the horizon for MyRow, making the Concept2 rowing experience more engaging and enjoyable for all users.
