Oura, the Finnish company known for its smart rings, is unveiling its fourth-generation Ring which boasts a sleek design, longer battery life, and improved sensors for enhanced insights. A major update to the Ring 4 is the sensors, now flush with the body for a smoother look and feel. The new model offers 18 signal pathways and a “Smart Sensing” algorithm for more accurate readings, addressing issues of inconsistent data due to movement. The Ring 4 promises better blood oxygen sensing and fewer gaps in heart rate readings, with an estimated battery life of up to eight days. Available in 12 sizes and six colors, the Ring 4 is water-resistant and suitable for various activities, with redesigned app features including a focus on vital signs and long-term health insights. Membership-only features are also included, such as automatic heart-rate detection and insights for fertility windows. Oura Ring 4 is available for pre-order, with shipping starting on October 15, 2024, priced at $349.
