Indie developer Gardenfiend Games recently launched the stunning plant horror game “Perennial Order,” described by its team as a fusion of “Hollow Knight” and “Titan Souls.” Available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S since September 6, this 2D boss rush game draws inspiration from “Dark Souls,” “Princess Mononoke,” and the art style of “Magic: The Gathering.” Players take on the role of an undead knight with a pitcher plant head and a stinger for an arm in a world teeming with plant-infested creatures. The game can be played solo or cooperatively, with 15 challenging bosses to contend with in a one-hit-death combat system. Despite the difficulty, respawning is forgiving, allowing for quick retries. The captivating environment and music contribute to a beautifully bleak atmosphere, enriched by engaging NPC interactions that uncover the game’s lore. For fans of plant horror, “Perennial Order” is a must-download that promises an immersive and thrilling experience.
