Bungie is targeting the mobile games market with the upcoming release of Destiny: Rising, a sci-fi RPG shooter title for Android and iOS developed by NetEase Games. Set in a different timeline from Destiny and Destiny 2, the game promises familiar faces and new characters in a narrative focused on Earth’s recovery after “The Collapse.” Players can expect to explore Earth after the Dark Age and experience gameplay from both first-person and new third-person perspectives. With PvE and PvP modes available, players can create clans, make friends, and participate in challenges. Microtransactions are likely in the game, following NetEase Games’ past practices, but details are not yet confirmed. Despite recent layoffs at Bungie, NetEase Games is now accepting sign-ups for a closed alpha test of Destiny: Rising, with no official release date announced.
