SiriusXM has announced the launch of SiriusXM Podcasts+, a standalone podcast subscription service available via Apple Podcasts starting August 5. This new platform promises a premium listening experience with ad-free content, bonus material, and early access to new episodes from popular shows on the SiriusXM Podcast Network. While the content is not exclusive, subscribers can enjoy shows like “Smartless” with Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, “Literally! with Rob Lowe,” “Andy Cohen’s Daddy Diaries Podcast,” and “Last Podcast on the Left.” More programs are expected to join later this year. Initially available on Apple Podcasts, SiriusXM plans to expand the subscription to other platforms in over 60 countries at a cost of $6 per month or $45 per year. With their growing presence in the podcast space, SiriusXM aims to solidify its position as a major player, building on the success of their satellite radio talk shows. This new move reflects the trend of merging traditional radio and podcasting platforms.
