Nightdive Studios has reimagined another cult classic game for modern audiences with “Killing Time: Resurrected,” a refresh of the 1996 3DO and PC original that blended full-motion video (FMV) with a first-person shooter. This remake offers 4K visuals, a 144Hz frame cap, anti-aliasing, and revamped menu art and 2D screens. Players will now have access to all weapons from both the 3DO and PC versions, alongside newly-unearthed content like a pool house stage and a shipwreck. The 50 remastered live-action FMV sequences can be toggled between the original sprites and updated visuals, and the elimination of load times between areas is a welcome improvement. “Killing Time: Resurrected” is currently available for PC via Steam with a launch sale price of $20. Nightdive Studios has gained recognition for its work on other critically-acclaimed remasters and remakes like “Star Wars: Dark Forces” and a complete remake of “System Shock,” after being recently purchased by Atari.
